Technician Grade III accepts a wider list of trades. The notification lists the exact trades for each post.

Frequently asked questions

Which government job is best after ITI?

Railway Assistant Loco Pilot (Pay Level 2, with running allowances that raise take-home pay) and Railway Technician are the most popular. Both recruit in large numbers through the Railway Recruitment Boards.

Can diploma holders apply for SSC JE?

Yes. SSC JE accepts a diploma in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical engineering for most departments. A few departments ask diploma holders for two years of work experience.

Does an ITI count as Class 12?

Not for most general exams. Some states treat a two-year ITI after Class 10 as equal to Class 12 for specific posts, but SSC and Railway Class 12 posts need an actual Class 12 pass.
