Jobs after 10th without a written exam

India Post Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) selects candidates on Class 10 marks alone. There is no written exam; a merit list is made state by state. You need Maths and English in Class 10, the local language, basic computer knowledge and the ability to ride a cycle.

Railway Act Apprentice posts (through the Railway Recruitment Cells) are also filled on merit, using Class 10 and ITI marks. An apprenticeship then counts towards Railway Group D and ALP eligibility.

Which one should you choose?

If you are physically fit and between 18 and 23, SSC GD Constable and state police constable posts offer the fastest route. If you want a desk job, prepare for SSC MTS and RRB Group D together: their syllabus (maths, reasoning, general awareness) overlaps heavily.

Doing an ITI after Class 10 adds Railway Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician posts. Completing Class 12 (regular or through NIOS) adds SSC CHSL, RRB NTPC and state clerk posts, which pay more.

Which government job is best after 10th?

For most students it is SSC GD Constable (Pay Level 3) or RRB Group D (Pay Level 1), because both recruit in large numbers every year. India Post GDS is the easiest to get because it has no written exam, but it pays a time-related allowance rather than a full pay level.

What is the age limit for government jobs after 10th?

Usually 18 to 23 years for SSC GD, 18 to 25 or 27 for SSC MTS, 18 to 33 for RRB Group D and 18 to 40 for India Post GDS. OBC candidates get 3 extra years and SC/ST candidates 5 extra years in central government jobs.

Can girls apply for government jobs after 10th?

Yes. SSC GD, SSC MTS, RRB Group D and India Post GDS are open to women. SSC GD has separate vacancies and physical standards for women.

Do I need a computer certificate?

Not for most central Class 10 posts, but India Post GDS asks for basic computer knowledge and many state Group C posts ask for a certificate such as NIELIT CCC. It is worth getting one early.
