Why you keep restarting the syllabus, and how to stop

4 min read

Every Monday or every new month feels like the right time to start again from chapter one. By week three the plan has slipped, and the cycle repeats.

Restarting feels productive because the first chapters are familiar. The fix is to stop going back to the beginning: continue with current chapters and clear the backlog in a separate, small daily slot.

Give the backlog 45 minutes a day and list old chapters in order of exam weightage. Do not touch a new old chapter until the previous one is done.

Review the backlog list once a week. Seeing it shrink is what keeps you from starting over.
